THE JACOLETTI SYNDICATE.
Yesterday, Mr E. A. Canning received a telegram from Mr E. T. Cowle,
Adelaide, with reference to a ton of stone and some specimens which had
been forwarded by the Jacoletti Syndicate from their claim, which is
situated about half-way between Parker's Range and Southern Cross.
Apparently the instructions sent concerning the parcel miscarried, as
notwithstanding that five months had elapsed since it was forwarded,
nothing was heard about it, till yesterday, when, in reply to a telegram
sent to him by Mr Canning, referring to the stone and specimens, Mr Cowle
stated: — "Had them lately crushed, being in the way. Results 4 1/2
ounces." This crushing is of great importance, as it reveals that the
gold-bearing country probably extends the whole way from Southern Cross to
Parker's Range.
