PILBARRA.

There are now about 40 men at Pilbarra.  The majority are only making
"tucker," although a few are said to be doing remarkably well.

NICKOL

being [sic] close handy to the town, is the centre of attraction among the
hangers-on, who are waiting till some more attractive news is received
from one of the outward fields.  A recent visitor to the creek reports
that a few of the diggers there are doing fairly well.

ASHBURTON.

There is no doubt, from latest advices, that this find is overcrowded.
The few who can get ground in the Main Gully and doing very
satisfactorily, and another fairly large nugget has been unearthed.  But
the fact of there being 800 men on a field capable of holding about 100,
is sufficient to show how matters stand.

MALLINA.

Mr E. Martin, who arrived in Cossack last Saturday, brought the news of
another very successful crushing at the Alfred Argles Goldmining Company's
Claim.  From 5 tons of stone over 20 ozs of gold were obtained.

THE CENTRAL AND FRASER CRUSHINGS.

It was reported in town, yesterday afternoon, that Mr Park had reached
York from Southern Cross with 120 ounces of gold from the Central mine.
It was also stated that Mr Fraser had arrived in York with 129 ounces of
gold from the Fraser's mine.  These amounts are the result of the
crushings on which these companies have been engaged.  We have received no
authoritative statement ourselves, upon the subject.
