Abstract:
Mr Arkell has heard from his neighbour, Mr W Meston that Glauert may well be interested in some aboriginal artifacts in his possession.
He describes the contents of the box as so:
  • Two pairs of grinding stones which have seen a lot of service.
  • Some wattle seeds which he believes was the chief thing ground by these stones.
  • A stone axe
  • What Mr Arkell believes to be a granite spear point
  • Another quite remarkable semi-clear quartz like crystal with many hair like lines running in all directions thtrough it.
  •
Arkell also mentions and describes what he considers to be a bird, very rare in that district. Something between a plover and a quail. They are light brown or fawn with bands of dark brown running across the back and wings.

He wouldn't like to destroy one of these birds but would do so if required - for identification purposes.
