Glauert is acknowledging receipt of a very excellent cast of the Scaddan Implement.
He goes on to say that the original has led to considrable discussion as it is so unlike anything found previously in Western Australia. Glauert is of the opinion that it is a European object brought to W.A. and either lost or intentionally thrown away. It reminds him of a British or French palaeolithic 'Hand-Axe' or 'Boucher'. Glauert compares the situation to that of a Roman coin found in virgin bushland not long ago even though there is no record of the Romans ever visiting Western Australia and goes on to say that because it was found in W.A., should we assume that it is Western Australian.
Glauert concludes by saying that it is a most interesting object and may eventually prove to be Western Australian.
Glauert is interested to know how Mr Womersley is progressing with sorting the Canning Stock Route insects, half of wwhich should come to this Museum.
