Glauert replies to correspondence from Mr. W. S. Henville of Cranbrook WA who has noted how native animals are rapidly dying out in his district.
Glauert notes Henville's comments but sees no way in which the gradual extinction can be avoided.
He further notes: trapping of possums has been disastrous for the species; snaring shooting and poisoning of wallabies has occurred; fumigation to deal with rabbits; and numbats and possums have trouble finding hollow trees.
Cranbrook is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia between Katanning, Kojonup and Mount Barker, situated 320 km south of Perth.
