Mr. W. S. Henville of Cranbrook WA writing to The Curator of Museum and noting how native animals are rapidly dying out in his district.
Henville specifically mentions the banded anteater, the curlew and the opossum.
He notes that they used to be very common and specimens will soon only be available in the Museum.
Cranbrook is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia between Katanning, Kojonup and Mount Barker, situated 320 km south of Perth.
