An exhibition and conference held 15-23 September 2012 tracing the history of whaling in Binic (1833-1841) and of two ships, l'Entreprenant and le Perserverant which chased whales in the south seas. The Perserverant was wrecked
on Dirk Hartog Island, Western Australia in 1841. The exhibition includes the history of whaling, whaling craft and equipment and ends with the ruthless massacres of the 20th century which culminated in the generation of whale conservation measures.
