Western Australia's first payable gold field was discovered on May 18th, 1886 at Halls Creek in the Kimberley. Thus began the long, hard battle for gold in the West. Western Australia Week in 1986 was proclaimed "Gold Week"
to celebrate 100 years of gold mining and prospecting in the state. "Gold : All That Glitters" portrays the life style of the pioneers through excerpts from Gold Week displays and re-enactments of events from those early times.
