Letter from Miss Theresa Clay, British Museum of Natural History, London to Ludwig Glauert.Thanks for your letter of March 1 & 22.Agrees the previous report insufficient for a full paper but suggests publishing a note under Glauert's
name.Makes suggestions for the content of the introduction.Suggests the list of identification follow rearrangement according to order.The pigeon record should go at the end as it is not a Mallophaga.Add under Corvidae : Corvus coronoides 24-275 Myrsidea? shirakii Uchida.Acanthisza inornata should be omitted. The Cuculoecus is most certainly a straggler.The notes could then follow with the alterations as given below.1. As it stands.2. The specimens of Ancistrona from Pachyptila foresteri and Puffinus assimilis have a number of parasitic mites. These were sent to Dr. J. Cooreman of the Musee Royal d'Histoire Naturelle de Belgique who states that they are Myialgopsis trinotoni Coorema3. The specimens of Boopia spinosa was sent to Dr. F.L Werneck who was pleases to have a confirmation of the record of this species from Phascogale tapoatafa as there is much confusion in the true hosts of the species of Boopia.4. The flies from the pigeon are Pseudolychia maura Bigot (Hippoboscidae) and are believed to be an Old World species which had become cosmopolitan.5&6 should be omittedOutstanding is the identitiy of A. carunculata 30-528/9. I am waiting for the return of the Ancistrona specimen from Dr Cooreman and will send to you with the specimen from Corvus coronoides.
