"In 2004, a precious collection of rare drawings by Aboriginal schoolchildren of the Stolen Generations during the 1940s in Western Australia - presumed lost for almost half a century - were discovered by chance in an art gallery storeroom at Colgate

University, Hamilton, New York, USA. These artworks astonished audiences with their striking depiction of the children's ancestral lands in Noongar Country in the south west of Western Australia. This vision was conveyed with a blazing intensity and deep insight borne of the children's deep connections to their Country - the landscape that surrounded them whilst they were incarcerated within the Carrolup Native Settlement."--Back cover.
