15/04/1976
Travelled in two parties, B.R.W.'s Holden (B.R.W., K.L., J.S-S., A.W.) and WAM Nissan (F.W. & S. S-S.) departing from Shenton Park, meeting with H.M., T.M. and children at Williams, proceeding to Wagin and to Lake Grace, camping overnight east of Lake Grace. 48042.5 48012.0/30.5 48078.0/48042.5/32.5.

480120 - woodland, Salmon gums/ gimlet? clay soil; no sign of any molluscs.
48012.5 - Frank Hann National Park
48037.9 - End of F. W. National Park
48042.5 - "90 mile" tank - full of evil green water.
      65.5 - poor track [t. s.]
48078.0 - turnoff S to Peak Charles.
48090.2 - End of track at Peak Charles.
Collected at stations along route to Lake King and Peak Charles - v few dead Coxiella in salt lakes - dead Cladocerans and other bivalved crustacea on drift lines.
V. few land snails to be found - no Bothriembryon and v few ____ [underlined blank space] in one locality on bark of lignotuber of mallee.        
Peak Charles
Collected in areas near end of road on eastern side of peak. Thin shelled Bothriembryon fairly abundant - both live & dead - at base of Peak but not up on granite slopes except in breakaway area.
Perhaps 2 species of dextral pupoid and 1 species of sinistral pupoid. Only a few dead specimens of ____ [underlined blank space]. Pupoids more abundant in Casuarina litter above creek bed. BRW caught Whip Snakes. Insects and spiders taken.

HM KL TM & TM [initials repeated?] departed 8:50AM for Grass Patch.
BRW FW SSS AM JSS AW departed Peak Charles after collecting at base on North side. 10:45AM; 32137.4 km.
11:08AM; 32150.0 km. Junction of Peak Charles Rd and Lake King-Kumarl Rd
32162km - at junction of turnoff to roads to Kumarl and Norseman.
32184km - Junction with Norseman-Esperance Rd.
12:00PM; 32204 km - Left Salmon Grove.
3222.2 km - turnoff Wiltshire Rd.
about 3232 km - to Coopers Farm.
3234.8km Outcamp[?] FW Snails.
3246km; at 1:35PM - Junction of Wiltshire Rd & Norseman-Esperance Rd.
3253km - Turnoff to W Kents Road to Alan Longbottom's place just N of town sign for Grass Patch. 200-300 yds S to look for Bothriembryon dux in Grass Patch townsite reserve to W of road about 100 yds N of speed sign. B. dux, B normal banded, Theba, pupoid.
325.5km; 3:05PM - Esperance Jetty
330km; 4:55PM (Nissan), 48215.0km (Holden) - Left Esperance. KL & FW in Nissan; Merrifields in Falcon; BRW, SSS, AW & JSS in Holden. Took beach road to Condinap[Condingup?].
48218.6km - met up with inland road.
48239.6km - Trailer (boat - Longbottom's) towed by Nissan broke bearing. Trailer and boat were left at homestead bust to west and south side of road.
32416.0km; 7PM - Duke of Orleans camping site.
18/04/1976
32419.1 km; 9.45AM - TM, HM, SSS, AM, JSS & AW went to High Island (joined by natural causeway to mainland). BRW, FW, AL & KL went in Longbottom's boat to dredge west of causeway near Tabletop Island. SSS collected (snorkeling) east of causeway along north side of island to channel and little island to south east. BRW, FW & Longbottoms' dredged east and west of causeway  in about 6ft of weed and sand. Anna and kids went to top of Tabletop - collected Coxiella (black) in FW pool - no land snails.
In afternoon went to foot of Pt Belchers on east side towards Nares I. Alan & Graham Cooper, and Keith dived and dredged on north-west side of Nares I. BRW and SSS collected Bothriembryo under rocks and in litter under bushes, Hillary collected on seashore, beach and among rocks.
19/04/1976
Beach and point at end of Daniels Road, east of Tabletop (about 5 miles around beach and about 2.5 miles direct) and next point on. No snails or remains found. Took ant samples - mound building, large and small ants, centipede, earwig, mites etc.
Stopped at second creek from beach going north east towards main road. [collected] Paralaoma.
32482.0km - Stopped on main road going west, rock on main road. [collected] Paralaoma, Succinea, Gastrocopta[?]
32490.9km - Junction of Condingup, 8km Duke of Orleans Bay 13km. Cape le Grand 52km Esperance 65km and our[?] road (Duke of Orleans Farm).
In afternoon - HM & SSS went collecting on peak nearest to camping ground. Bothriembryon and pupoid(1). Stopped at rock 9km east of junction of Lowes Road (Orleans Farm road) with roads to Esperance, Condingup and D of O Bay. Collected Bothriembryon, Succinea, Paralaoma (pupoid?).
FW, BRW and TM went collecting near Point Belcher. [collected] Bothriembryon. Longbottoms' and Graham Cooper went marine collecting and fishing.
20/04/1976
BRW, SSS and kids returned to Perth in Holden, stopped at Lort River to collect, no FW or land snails, Paralaoma found but lost. TM, KL and kids returned in Theo's car.
Additional short loose notes - one on ecology of Queen Snapper, second to Slack-Smith from "George" "Many thanks for the fossils from Mungliginup Creek. They included several quite valuable specimens! George. P.S.
