Field book consists daily logs of activity and distance traveled from departing Perth (13/4) to arrival on Bernier Island (15/4), format adjusts to detailed daily logs of animals (primarily mammals) observed/collected, and in which biomes as well as photos taken. On 20/4 there is a day trip to Dorre Island to check netting traps for caught specimens (Banded Hare-wallaby, Rufous Hare-wallaby and Bettongs). Summarised at the back are the number of goats shot/carcasses found, categorised by gender and if juvenile, as well as whether they were found singularly or in groups. Additionally a summary of the number and condition of macropods (Banded Hare-wallaby, Rufous Hare-wallaby and Bettongs) and Western Barred Bandicoots caught. Finally there are summary notes on the native mammal species observed; physical descriptions, preferred habitats, prevalence and behavior. Also included is a typed list of reptile specimens collected (not otherwise detailed in field book), a note that a copy of the field notebook was sent to Robert Prince, CALM Wildlife Research for Bettong Information dated 14/8/86, and a handwritten note to Bannister from L. W. K. that a fossil Bothriembryon shell (69.1207.a-d.) collected by a member of the party (18/04/69) is considered an undescribed fossil species.
