Abstract:
THE NOR-WEST GOLDFIELDS.

DISCOVERY OF LARGE NUGGETS.

ARRIVAL OF THE GOVERNMENT GEOLOGIST AT ROEBOURNE.

[BY TELEGRAPH.]

(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.)

ROEBOURNE, Sept. 25.
A number of diggers have left Nullagine and are coming to Pilbarra.  Good

gold is being found at the latter spot.  About 70 men are there now.  The
latest news from the Ashburton is that the majority of the diggers are at
Mount Mortimer.  Several large nuggets have been found including a 150oz.
and a 138oz. nugget.  190 odd ounces have been brought in from the
different fields to-day, to my own knowledge.

Mr Woodward, the Government Geologist, arrived last evening overland from
Geraldton.  He leaves again in a few days for Nullagine.
