following report dated Spring Gully, June 13th, from Mr. Jas. Mulligan,
the mining manager: "I have about two tons of tin dressed since last
Monday.  I got thirty-six tin bags, I intended to put one hundred-weight
in each bag, but there will not be enough.  During the early part of this
week, I had to extend the tail race, so I shall have only about thirty
hundred-weight by pay day.  I think I shall get the clean tin off the
ground about the 18th, but it is very difficult to get carriers.  At
present I can wash 5 or 6 hundred-weight per day, but there is a lot of
time lost in cleaning out the dam three times during the fortnight."
