Abstract:
Nikki King Smith, born in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) is a conservator at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. She talks about the family's move to Tasmania where her father worked as a winding engineer; her education and completing a fine arts degree;
a move to W.A. (c. 1982) for work with the Western Australian Maritime Museum; working as a conservator on the submarine HMAS Ovens and the difficulties relating to the conservation of large maritime objects on a limited budget; her return to Tasmania and conservator education.
