"Kangaroo Kate, a popular name throughout the early 20th century in the Australian bush. The first was Rosina Jones, a sly grogger of the goldfields who died in 1931 aged 54. However the text refers to the 'famous' Kangaroo Kate, Elizabeth or Elvira Gordon,
well known in the Hoffmans Mill-Nanga Brook- Dwellingup-Pinjarra area, prior to 1930.
