During the 18th century the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778) was to inspire 17 of his scholars to travel to the far corners of the earth to document local nature and culture. Their travels covered all the continents, and they came to be known
as the Linnaeus Apostles. This site showcases the publication of the journals of the apostles in the monumental work "The Linnaeus Apostles : global science and adventure" in 2007.
