Glauert replies to correspondence of 18 November 1936 from Mr. W. J. McClemans, Kondut, seeking help about the origin of the name 'Wongan Hills' and details about the frozen food in mammoths' stomachs.
Glauert states that the Wongan Hills derives its name from the local Aboriginal people with early records spelling the word "Woongan."
Glauert confirms the presence of vegetable food both between the teeth and in the stomachs of frozen mammoths.
He adds that some of the plants are so fresh that Botanists have been able to identify the plants.
